Horse Farm Tours

Mint Julep's seven to eight hour tour covers a variety of horse farms in the heart of Kentucky, and there are several available options to see on your custom tour.

Your tour could take you into a stallion barn, where you'll see the finest of Kentucky's stallions as they are cared for and bred. You can see a training center, where you'll observe firsthand as the finest trainers in the business shape these horses into world-class competitors. You'll see the most famous thoroughbred farms that are home to Kentucky's finest equines and even meet the grooms that care for these beautiful animals.

If your visit takes place in late winter or early spring, you can visit a horse farm for mares and foals and, if you're lucky, perhaps see the birth of a new foal! Watch as the mare gently mothers her new foal and teaches it how to walk and run, the foal still unsteady on its feet and neighing softly.

Finally, your visit can include a trip to Keeneland Race Course, a National Historic Landmark and the most prestigious site for horse sales in the world. Keeneland gently merges country elegance and racing excitement into one unforgettable landmark. Alternatively, if you forgo Keeneland, you can go shopping in Midway, Kentucky.

Again, the tour lasts between seven and eight hours depending on what you want to see and also includes lunch!
