You can't visit Kentucky without seeing what Kentucky's famous for: Horses and Bourbon. Mint Julep Tours offers top quality bourbon tours. We have 7 different bourbon distilleries to choose from, each tour with a wide variety of options. You can make your own custom bourbon tours by selecting which of the distilleries you want to visit and then letting Mint Julep Tours' expert staff do the rest to put together a top quality tour for you and your friends. You have the choice of a Bourbon Trail Tour East or Bourbon Trail Tour South with the option of half day bourbon tours or whole day bourbon tours.
You can personalize your bourbon tours by selecting which of the 7 major bourbon distilleries you wish to visit. The tour is split up into two general categories, the East Tour and the South Tour:
Choose from Wild Turkey, Woodferd Reserve, Four Roses, or Buffalo Trace.
Situated on a hill that offers a stunning overlook of the Kentucky River, Wild Turkey has been distilling premium straight Kentucky bourbon whiskey for generations. Master Distiller Jimmy Russell continues a traditional, time-honored process and closely scrutinizes every single step.
Woodferd Reserve is a very old distillery established in 1812 along Glenns Creek. It was purchased by Brown-Forman and reopened in 1996 as a showpiece designed to help you imagine 19th century whiskey-making. A tasting will be served at the end of the tour.
Four Roses Distillery's tour focuses on the distillation process of bourbon. The more impressive showpieces are a 45-foot tall copper "beer still" and several 16,000 gallon red cypress fermentation tanks. The architecture is also unique and might make you think of a winery, but this is a bourbon distillery through and through.
Finally, the Buffalo Trace Facility dates back more than 200 years and, like Four Roses, is also a National Register of Historic Places. It was built over the site of an ancient buffalo trace. Buffalo Trace has won more international awards in the last decade than any other distillery. A tasting of bourbon will be served at the conclusion of the tour.

Choose from Maker's Mark Distillery, Heaven Hill Distillery, or Jim Beam Distillery.
A world famous brand, Maker's Mark is an age old distilling village that makes top quality bourbon in a picturesque setting. More than 350 plant species burst forth on the grounds, giving a strong sense that the facility is one with nature. The tour goes through several of the beautiful buildings and the grounds and also includes a tasting with the opportunity to purchase a 375 mL bottle of Maker's Mark. Each guest gets to seal his or her bottle in the signature red wax for a take home gift.
Heaven Hill Distillery's tour focuses on how aging barrels of prime Kentucky bourbon are stored. A massive warehouse holds 20,000 barrels in an "open-rick" system (more on what that means when you take the tour!). A large tasting barrel provides tasting of both Evan Williams Single Barrel bourbon and an 18-year-old Elijah Craig. The tour also includes a look at a 10,000 square foot heritage center that opened in 2004.
Jim Beam Distillery is also a world famous brand you have the chance to visit on our Bourbon Trail South Tour. This is the world's largest bourbon distillery, and you'll get to see all of it, as well as a short movie. And of course, a tasting is offered of bourbon made by Beam's seventh generation master distiller.
